Hello!

My name is Debby. I’m an old timer collector/shower (yikes, I guess that makes me old! LOL). I started collecting Breyers when I was 3 years old and it became my childhood obsession. Every Christmas I got all the special runs from Sears, JC Penney and Montgomery Wards. I started photo and live showing in the early ‘80s. I eventually left the hobby in the early ’90s, packed up all my models and stored them away. They followed me back and forth across the country for decades. I just recently unpacked them all, took inventory and sold my whole collection. Now, I’m starting over. I just became interested in Peter Stone models (they were just coming out when I left the hobby). I’m hoping to build up a show string and start photo showing again. It’s so much easier to do online! So glad to be here!

Welcome! Your pattern sounds a lot like mine: obsessed as a kid in the 70's-80's, then had a long gap, then suddenly rediscovered the hobby in my case about 3 years ago.

Yup, same pattern for me, too. Started young, built a pretty fair collection, sold out and rebuilt my collection twice, and about eight years ago got back into it again, probably for keeps this time. Only three of my original models survived all the purging over the many years--an old sorrel Belgian I got in my Easter basket one year, and a team of Clydesdales with a logging sledge/buckboard I got for Christmas as a kid. I mainly have Breyers, Stones, and artist resins, but also one or more WIA, Collecta, Hartland, and Blue Ribbon. I think you'll love showing here.
