Gotland The Gotland Russ is Sweden’s only native pony breed. They are small and hearty, standing between 11.1 and 12.3 hands. The most common color is bay — often wild Bay or mealy. They can also be black, chestnut, and cream dilutes. They are a strong and versatile breed, used for everything from children’s mounts, to sporting ponies, to work horses. The Gotland has small alert ears, a straight profile, a short, muscular neck, sturdy joints, and strong hooves.
